Celibate Sex is a new mailing list for people who, owing to being carriers of viruses associated with incurable, sexually transmitted diseases, have been forced to choose between celibacy, or lying to people you'd like enough to get intimate with and taking the chance of infecting them, or limiting all sex activity to persons with the exact same virus(es) you have...and for those of us with more than one, that can narrow the choice of potential partners to a very slim field.

They all seem to start with the letter H: HIV, HCV and HSV (herpes simplex) are all in this category. It's a crushing blow to realise that condoms are not "safe sex", when you KNOW you are infected and your partner is NOT, "protection" only lowers the chance of infection; it does NOT prevent it from happening...as all too many people will attest to, who've ended up stuck with these viral hitchhikers, even after having been scrupulous condom users. (It's NOW being said HSV is so tiny, it can even pass THROUGH some condoms!)

What is one to do? Masturbate until we die? How utterly depressing, draining, and boring. Our sexuality does not vacate us just because our chances for a satisfying, healthy sex life dwindle to "hardly possible". It seems there ought to be groups all over the internet to turn to for support, to find out how others who have to endure this fate have coped with it, and get some idea how to have an alive sexuality even as we...cannot have sex, whether coitus or oral. (And let's face it, how many people are going to bother staying with someone whose sole sex practice that can be indulged in without worry is mutual masturbation with rubber gloves? Oh, you thought hand jobs were safe? Not if you've a scratch, or a loose cuticle.)

This group has been created because its moderator has HCV and HSV and could not find anything in the way of an "health-required-celibacy support group" anywhere, and felt that it's time this was rectified.

You may be fortunate enough not to be cursed by such bad circumstances, but please post this link everywhere you can so that those persons who ARE will discover that it exists, and gather together, share their stories, commiserate, and then maybe even discover that thinking out of the proverbial box can bring forth pathways to vibrant sexuality that one never might have known existed otherwise.

I'm sad today. I lost a friend. I've known him 5 years. He went apeshit on me for the crime of "Forum Posting While Liberal" and it was really ugly, cruel and mean, he's been brainmelted by fox news or living in texas maybe...damnit, this is like a death, it's weird, i just can't be friends with someone who sends me a photo of a dead iraqi's brains all over the sidewalk and the subject 'this is what i find beautiful'. my god. i need to do something cathartic, this really hurts, we had tremendous respect for one another even with the political differences...he used to be more intelligent about it, it is so evil that it ruined that. fuck, fuck, fuck.

I finally got my head out of my ass and reinstalled StumbleUpon. Fuck, this place is starting to look a little more like Yahoo. I dun' like that my address can't say "altered state" any more but now has a stupid pull down menu like every other fucking place does. I guess it's necessary for the dataminers to suck all my demographic info down so they can sell it to corporations, now we must not get in the way of THAT. Poo. Anyway, I thank everyone for all the great mail and I'll try to keep up this stupid bloglet more. PS: Why only cigarettes and alcohol on the personals page? I dun' do that stuff but if I say that I look like a 12 stepper or something. Where's "I smoke, just not tobacco"?
