LAMBORGHINI LAPTOP

Aerodynamic. Gigahorsepower. Zero to Google in 0.002 seconds. A gorgeous piece of modern tech design. Though I respect the car, I'd have way more fun with the laptop. I can't find a price for the Lambo lappy, but as the saying goes: If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Should you decide to get both the car and the matching laptop, don't forget the coordinating leather Lamborghini logo mouse pad which, believe it or don't, is NOT the most expensive mouse pad on earth.

Hypersonic has long been my favorite for car-quality mirror-finish, beautifully-colored notebooks, but I think Lamborghini's case design beats Hypersonic's stocky blocky box.

It didn't take long for me to become blatantly hostile towards "PC beige", which for decades was the only choice we had. After a few years they came out with genuine wood cases, monitors and keyboards. That was enticing for a few seconds, but still not what I dreamed of. After that came matte black. Wow. Be still my heart.

What I truly desperately long for is COLOR. Give me girly pink! Passionate Purple! Baby blue! Mellow Yellow! Polka-dots! Kate Spade stripes! Burberry plaids! Or a simple and endlessly deep and shiny black! Apple, god love 'em, gave us the first pure and fresh sparkling white, which was and still is a heavenly sight. VoodooPC has stepped up with a large variety of colors. Or you can go the skin route; there's some serious skin out there just waiting to spiff up your plain-Jane notebook.

This PC-to-match-your-car idea is fabulously fun. What other cars would translate well to a PC? Vette? Mustang/Shelby? Porsche? Hummer? Yea!!! How about a classic pink and black Caddy with tail fins, circa 1940s-1950s? Can you imagine a pink and black rig with modernized LED tail fins and a chrome dashboard for function keys? Sweet. Falcon Northwest says if you can dream it, they can paint it, so they're a must-visit if you're looking to buy something seriously special and one-of-a-kind.

Note to builders: Don't forget the vrrooom-vrrooom sound during boot-up. If you build a killer car-honoring machine, but fail to replace the coma-inducing Windows Muzak that hasn't changed since AOL could be installed with a single floppy disk, then don't come crying to me when everyone calls you a sissy and steals your lunch money.

DON'T BLINK!

Think the game of "don't blink" is just for kids? The National Association of Staredown Professionals would stare a hole through you to prove you wrong.

All sports have rule books; NASP is no exception. The goal of a staredown match, of course, is to not be the first to blink. Match rules are strict with regard to play surface, participant attire, judging, facial expressions during the match, etc. Spitting is absolutely prohibited. Doping is as shunned in staredowns as in the Olympics, with a detailed list of eyedrops and other performance-enhancing drugs banned from competition.
