Pretty soon both of these suckers are going to bottom out, and since there's really no other players in the consumer video card game, at least one of them is going to bounce back. NVIDIA is at around $11, down from almost $25 a couple months ago, and AMD has been steadily declining for a long time and is on its way to becoming a penny stock. Have a little extra cash? There's nowhere to go but up with these poor guys.

I'd bet on AMD because of there new Radeon 4870s and because NVIDIA has had problems with there G84 and G86 parts, but AMD is squaring off against Intel, and that David/Goliath thing doesn't always work out the way you want it to.

Organizers behind the CanSecWest security conference in Vancouver are putting together a "hacker superbowl" of sorts, pitting attendees skills against Vista, Mac OSX and Linux. Dubbed PWN 2 OWN (ewwww), The objective is to develop a brand-new "zero day" attack to take control of one of the three os loaded laptops. A grand prize of $20,000 and the hacked laptop will go to the first contestant to pull it off. The catch is that the prize money drops by one half with each passing day, and the rules will constantly change. For example, on day one, hackers were only allowed to use network based attacks. Not surprisingly, no one even attempted it. As the days wear on, the rules will relax to allow hacks that involve web sites, email, and non-standard software.
