I started to type up that last comment on "Future of Twitter", and I thought I'd be clever and start to rant and cut it off at 140. My first line of thought went nowhere, so I switched to the 'care less' train, with the intention of moving on to my real problem with social networking of all kinds, which is that while listening to something like Talk of the Nation, Science Friday, I have to listen to them go on for five minutes listing their handles at 58 different sites, now with a whole paragraph at the end about tweeting 'us' at the-at-sign-followed-by-scifri.

Anyhow, joke's on me, the cut off happened just before the second full stop, so now it just looks like I'm lazy. I could have done some mangling and rewriting just to properly convey the CARRIER LOST meme that I was really shooting for, but instead, here I am typing up this crap, which is clearly doing nothing for my image, but has a certain cathartic value for me.

In short (HA!) 140 chars is not even enough text to properly make fun of a 140 char limit, so... yay?

If I have defriended You, be not offended. It's just that I really don't know You, now do I?
I only just now discovered that there is now a friend/subscription divide, and I feel a small obligation to be honestish about the categories, and will begin rectifying at some slow, arbitrary rate.
The funny part is that most of you are only on the list because You added me first. That's right, except for my IRL group, I only added anyone who added me first, and I did so for every single one who honored me so, and only 6 or 7 have retracted since, no doubt because their lists were full, or because I offended them, but I've kept them on, feeling no offense.

If You happen, for whatever reason, to desire to be called 'friend' by this one, it would take very little effort to sway me, but damned if I could define said effort. Somewhere between saying "Yo" and buying me a beer, no doubt.

Ok, so I've been at that project for all of 30 seconds, and have already learned something about fickleness, and have decided that those who have already written kind words about me will get a 'by'.

Aw, bull.
Lots of modern cars are too quiet. I've seen more than one person lately who had no idea whether their car was running or not, for example after running the starter for the usual length of time and then wondering why the car wouldn't go. If the car is moving fast enough to be dangerous, then it will make noise. As an occasional pedestrian, I've found that on most shiney new cars, all I can hear is the tires, so how is a hybrid any different?

The desk that sits in the Oval Office crossed my mind the other day. I mean, the thing has got to have historical value, right? So, what went through my mind is that I am a feet-on-the-desk kind of guy. I could not sit at a desk that seemed too important to have my feet on. I would have to move the thing into another room and provide my own, just for that reason. A nice one, for sure, just not one that was so valuable... Now I see that the dude has a separate 'private study', so maybe that would be the proper place for some foot on desk action. Anyhow, does POTUS ever kick back? Has POTUS ever suddenly realized that his feet are on The Desk and fell over, swearing? Has anyone ever walked into the room and said "Mr. President! Get your damned shoes off of there!"
I gots to know these things.

Finally, I find it interesting that the eagle on the desk faces the 'sinister' rather than the 'dexter'.

*edit* My bad, I see that it was sinister before it was dexter, and it was Truman that changed it.
