To empower mental health consumers by consolidating their voice into a unified advocacy group, run by and for consumers, with the necessary resources to influence the development and delivery of mental health services in the DC metropolitan area. DCMHCL will also be involved in efforts to educate the public about mental health issues to foster a more positive and understanding environment for those who suffer from mental illness. These efforts will include the goal of improving the quality of life for DC area consumers by being a main resource for information about organizations, agencies and services relevant to their needs.</p>
