I was so angered, ashamed and embarrassed to read the headline below, in Yesterdays Israel Today email. Most Christians have great difficulties with the theologies expounded by the Catholic Church (including those who are members of it but bless them, they stay there because they believe it would be even worse without them) but the Pope's statement does demonstrate the rot there, when their supreme leader at best does not read God's word or at worst, having read it, denies God's love and authority in respect of the State of Israel.
Please assure everyone that his is NOT the true Christian view*.

Pope throws weight behind 'Palestinian cause'
Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday fulfilled the bleak expectations of many Israelis when he turned a visit to Bethlehem into a rallying cry for the creation of a Palestinian Arab state.
Standing beside Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, Benedict fully threw his weight behind the Palestinians in their quest for "a sovereign Palestinian homeland in the land of your forefathers, secure and at peace with its neighbors, within internationally-recognized borders."
Abbas capped the event by presenting the pope with a piece of concrete from the nearby Israeli security barrier built to prevent Palestinian terrorism, but which the Palestinians hold up as a sign of what they call Israeli apartheid. By comparison, Israeli President Shimon Peres presented the pope with a "nano Bible" - the entirety of the Hebrew scriptures etched on a pinhead-sized silicon chip.
Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat called the pope's visit and his speech on Wednesday a clear call to end the "Israeli occupation."

*There, in undeniable, black-and-white, in the book of Ezekiel 47:14 '.....................this land will become your inheritance' (please read it for yourself, you have got the advantage of doing so in the original Hebrew). God then goes on to dictate the boundaries for Israel (we would all like it to be as it was in King David's day but that, perhaps, was a special time). There is a problem here with the north and south boundary because, I understand, the places no longer exist under the names written in the scripture, but with the east and west there is no doubt whatsoever; the west being the Mediterranean Sea and the east being the Jordan (so why do I hear Israelis accepting the terms West Bank and Occupied Territories, that the media we have to tolerate in the West, continually get away with making reference to).
Verses 22 and 23 might be a little difficult to handle in the present climate' '22:You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. 23:In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance," declares the Sovereign LORD'. However, taking onboard all it says, I see no Independent Palestinian State laid down in there, do you?.

Please accept our apologies for all those Christian church leaders who are supposed to be speaking God's will on earth.
