A couple I know invented a game called Scarf Barf, something like punch buggy, but with Burberry scarves as the trigger instead of VW bugs. I've discovered over the years that my daughter and I are in constant play, slugging the other's shoulder whenever one of these pops into view.

I sent the couple an email titled "Scarf Barf" with a link to a page on Lileks.com called "Interior Design Disasters from the 1970s". The link opened a picture of a wood-paneled room where the chairs, sofa, lampshades, and I think even the wallpaper was plaid. The wife said she just screamed "Yaaaagh" when she saw the photo. Her husband leaped beside her and immediately punched her in the arm.

(Unfortunately those pictures are no longer there since James Lileks released the book Interior Desecrations: Hideous Homes from the Horrible '70s),
