"So if you're afraid of dying and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away but if you've made your peace then the devils are really angels freeing you from earth." -Louis in Jacob's Ladder when Jacob says he's afraid.

I've been fighting fear...real or not it feels the same. Fear wants to cage. Love is free. Battle worth while even if imaginary.Like a video game but not.

from another source--CAB:
I believe we walk amongst many options and opportunities and as we walk along the unknown roads we come across the unbearable and the absolute as well as the surprise and the glee yet time shows us fleeting glimpses of what we would choose but continuously we walk the unknown roads with much manifesting and much opportune...along the way we decide and change minds and take a few steps back to ponder and kick aside a stone in the path...amused lifting our eyes we look up to find what looks to be the promising...a smile widens..we make a decision and continue our walks amongst the many looking back not much..looking down here and there...then looking up as the smile broadens so absolute...I BELIEVE IN ONLY YOUR SMILE AND AM DESERVING OF THE KISS TO FOLLOW...watch the eyes close then I open my smiling eyes.
my interests---evidence of my journey through a dark and illuminating time.

* Time and space are illusions, and both the past and future coexist with the present in what Seth referred to as a "spacious present"; therefore, a person's incarnations in different time periods are actually lived simultaneously, as opposed to consecutively. Time appears to exist in a linear form because of limitations inherent in the physical brain.

* All individuals create their own circumstances and experiences within the shared earthly environment, similar to the doctrine of responsibility assumption. The phrase "you create your own reality" was frequently used by Seth and may have originated with him. The inner self is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the individual's physical body and immediate physical environment; events, however, unfold according to the outer ego's beliefs and attitudes. Both productive and unproductive attitudes are translated into reality, and thus one of the tasks of the individual is to learn how to direct his or her thoughts in positive directions. In a private session given to a friend of Jane Roberts, the Seth personality said:

"You must watch the pictures that you paint with your imagination, for you allow your imagination too full a reign. If you read our early material, you will see that your environment and the conditions of your life at any given time are the direct result of your own inner expectations. You form physical materializations of these realities within your own mind.

"If you imagine dire circumstances, ill health, or desperate loneliness, these will be automatically materialized, for these thoughts themselves bring about the conditions that will give them reality in physical terms. If you would have good health, then you must imagine this as vividly as in fear you imagine the opposite.

"You create your own difficulties. This is true for each individual. The inner psychological state is projected outward, gaining physical reality -- and this regardless of the nature of the psychological state. ... The rules apply to everyone. You can use them for your own benefit and change your own conditions once you realize what they are.

"You cannot escape your own attitudes, for they will form the nature of what you see. Quite literally you see what you want to see; and you see your own thoughts and emotional attitudes materialized in physical form. If changes are to occur, they must be mental and psychic changes. These will be reflected in your environment. Negative, distrustful, fearful, or degrading attitudes toward anyone work against the self."[5]

CHANGING OUR REALITY

By now you should be thinking about the possible ways we can affect reality - the very one which we thought must be accepted without question. This is powerful information to consider and implementing it won't be easy at first. As stated earlier, our life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is at stake and there is nothing whatsoever to lose and everything to gain. Will we be one of those who lie back and just accept their "lot in life" - or actively work to improve it? Changing our reality isn't about becoming rich or famous even though it certainly is a possible side-effect. What thousands of famous people have proven for us is that anyone can make a difference in their life and the lives of millions of other people.

From various pages:In one Persian myth, love is the reason for Lucifer's fall: he loved God so much he would not bow to God's creation, Man.-Joseph Campbell

As I understand it, before the Jews were exiled in Babylon and taken by the Persian/Zoroastrians, they were polytheists and very pagan. Should look up the early Jewish scriptures on that one...

...but anyway, they did not have a representation of evil, like most religions.

Except the Zoroastrians, the Persians. The Persians had something like our devil idea, a non-god that represented evil: Anghra Mainyu. He was not a god, but the opposer, "The Adversary" of Mazda, the Wise. They believed in monotheism, and that humans have a choice in life; to either be for Good or against it. Pretty much like Judeo Christian beliefs.

Once the Jews were influenced by the Persians, they took up with this adversary idea.

The word Satan in the OT is not used for a person, it means "adversary," or opposer. David had his satans, etc.

Lucifer was a character from old Persian mythology. He was God's "greatest lover," and was tossed out for refusing to serve man, since his lover, God, had already told him and the other angels to only worship Him. I guess beffore there was Man, the "world" was a land of gods. (The Elohim) and angels. Anyway, God said "get out of my sight," making Lucifer into a spurned lover. Not really in a sexual sense, but these gods--they are always really jealous.

Satan later in the bible became sort of a consort for Jehovah, and only did Jehovah's bidding. He becomes a real character in the New T, where all this mythology stuff is supposed to have literally happened, and all these beings were supposed to literally exist.

The image of Satan and the Devil are indeed Pan-like, and evolved from other gods. We get the images from Medieval monks and priests, whose practice it was to write their own stuff in their bibles and make illustrations based on their literal interpretations. This is where we get the idea of the Antichrist being Jewish and born in the same manner as Christ. Not in the bible of course.(Hildegarde von Bingen was a big wall-painter). Many took these notations to be part of scripture at the time. Demon mythology and such- http://www.infidelguy.com -Pennycentury
