Tonight at precisely 12:00 AM Pacific Standard time we Steam users, we last few PC gamers who have refused to succumb to WoW addiction; we will feast upon the sweet citrusy innards of the Orange Box. Sure, I dropped 45 bones on my vidjagayms, but in actuality, I really dropped that dough (ground bones now made into dough to make bread) on FIVE games!

I've spent quite a few hours in the last few weeks grinding away at the Team Fortress beta; as a medic healing my comrades as they brave the front lines and return with their last remaining sliver of life and the hope that I'm not off somewhere pumping my Uber into some Pyro or Heavy Weapons whore; covering all openings to the enemy base in the hopes that they'll all mob out together only to erupt from that doorway in a spray of blood soaked cartoon entrails; or just turning tricks as a Pyro or Heavy, showing a little leg to any Medic that happens by and dragging him behind me as I wreak incredible amounts of destruction upon any hapless enemy who dare stumble into my path.

These are just a few of my favorites and if you've been playing, I'm sure you have yours too.

And this is just 1/3 of the new games releasing tonight, 1/5 of the entire package, and I'm already addicted.

My friend Steve O, being a dirty dirty punk rocker, has been to jail in more cities than I've even been able to visit. Since we graduated from HS, he has moved all over the country, with his latest venture being to New Orleans. Here is something he wrote about his experiences there:

So not even 3 hours in to moving to New orleans, from the west bank of the mississippi, I was arrested leaving my house. The 2 cops racially profiled us as two white people leaving a black neighborhood. I was arrested for driving with a suspended lisence. There has been a real problem with the law enforcement out here arresting as many people they can that they think have money. It is so bad that they are targeting all of the groups comming in to help rebuild, habitat for humanity, church groups from out of state, and many others. Let me tell you the jail here is a sewer! The place reeks of garbage and sewage. It was over ran with cockroaches. I was in a makeshift cell in the garage of the jail house. It was just horable. And to think only 2 years ago the prison system left all of the inmates in the prison while it flooded. Those that broke out to save there lives are now getting life sentences for braking out of jail. This fuckin place and its cops are fuckin wack. It is pretty much still under marshal law from what I can tell. There are still MPs and FBI walking around doing the jobs of the police force. Will this fascism ever stop and the good name of New Orleans return? Probably not ,this town is going to turn into another Las Vegas and all of the culture it going to be gone.

After I finished Bioshock, I clapped alone in front of my computer screen, as if I was in my own little personal theater and I had just finished Bowling for Columbine.
