There is a wonderful book published years ago by Timothy Ferris called "Galaxies", fabulous photos made from terrestrial based telescopes. Fascinating; hummbling. "What immortal hand or eye dare frame your fearful symmetry?!" (William Blake). In any case, with all the "stellar" technology now taking photos and the new images coming on-line, I think a second edition is warranted

Some of the internet "social networking" sites, like StumbleUpon and Facebook, leave me feeling like I'm talking to the aether. It turns out that the "aether" may really exists in some ways in the form of the "Higgs field", which is predicted by theory but never observed experimentally. You have been reading about this, haven't you? That is one of the objects of research at the CERN, but their collidor died last year during an "incident" where one or more of the magnets quenched. Apparently it has been repaired (who paid for that!) and we may learn about the "Higgs Vector Boson" and the "Higgs field" soon. Scuttlebutt is that when the magnet quenched last year, one ton of liquid helium boiled off (would not want to pay that bill either, or be around when it happened!). Keep watching, physics is stranger than religion.

Team rode yesterday of in memory of my brother-in-law who died of renal cancer. The team raised $1100. Jim has given a jersey signed by Lance Armstrong and his entire team a month before he passed.

Not a good name for the website. Not "bizarre" at all, as previous review suggests. Name gets misinterpreted. Also, some volunteers complain that the site is not well designed.

But is good cause. Runs in Charlotte NC Next year there will be a similar event in Atlanta. Come out and ride.
