Excellent collection of videos about science with interesting discussions of their utility in a classroom environment and so on. This is an ongoing project, and for me at least it'll be worth checking back quite regularly to see what's been added.

The educational potential of videos is obviously massive, and not something that's been fully worked out yet - people still make a lot of the same mistakes they've been making for years...

A Vegan Called Bacon :: Chinese Cheese

Fascinating survey of four different types of Chinese fermented tofu, or furu.

I've tried one of these before, possibly the same white furu this guy sampled - I bought a jar and cooked a few weird things with it. It's by far the closest I've come to a vegan blue cheese; I'd be curious to see how it works in a risotto or something.

I happened across this while trying to figure out what the hell this Chinese drink was that a friend of mine brought to the party last night - it smells a bit like blue cheese, tastes even stronger than it smells, and I think it might have given me a sore throat. If I've looked up the name successfully, it's 古幵貢洒, which seems to translate loosely as 'ancient equal tribute spray', and doesn't turn up any Google hits or indeed tell me anything useful at all.
