Ellen gives the major record labels free advertising of their songs by dancing to them in front of an audience of 3 million. In response, the labels sue her for not paying them. True, that's the law, but if you're getting FREE ADVERTISING somewhere, you should take it. No one who likes the song enough to have it is going to settle for a DVR or VHS recording of the show, they're going to go out and obtain it somewhere (in the worst case scenario for the label, they p2p it, but you can't blame a TV show for the viewer's actions). If I were producing a show I'd only use independently signed artists. Completely avoid the major labels as they are slimy and run good bands into the ground. Independent labels tend to be much more reasonable and think with some common sense since they typically rely on word of mouth to spread their sounds.

Good luck getting through to the majority here in Texas. They are fools and idiots. I guess the only thing this accomplishes is to show that there ARE gay and lesbian (etc...) people in North Texas, and sometimes that makes people realize they people they hate really exist, and aren't just "the others" that haunt their nightmares (and political advertisements).

Is the 3,000 mile rule-of-thumb for oil changes a scam? I personally think so, as long as you check the levels regularly and as long as you know the differences the environment you live in has on your engine's performance. Most people (including those on this page) say 3-5k miles, though apparently it's wildly different in Europe.
