to be fair, I only like two of these tutorials... but then again... that's all out of taste. I think out of these, you'll find at least one with a couple tricks you'll like... so just imagine that you could get that, and I think you'll find your reason to sift through these guys. (If you're an illustrator and would like to pick the brains of others)

Very cool! Make a font from your own hand strokes. While you can go and do this manually, the automation here is genius. *thumbs up*

*sigh* really kinda poor stuff here. Maybe later I will suggest this place if it tightens up a notch... but as of now... buggy registration and ugly, not exactly working... half implementation it feels... of wave. Still, kudos. They got more done than I could pull off... seeing as how I hate web-dev when it comes to server stuff like this.

New eReader in 2010? I hope someone will get it right. I need one. I kill dozens of trees buying books and printing out web documentation.

And I'll have to forgive their selling out to AT&T (I assume they have to do something to look competitive, no?) as long as they still manage to whoop the Kindle DX.

Video media is right up there with webpages in terms of being the worst, dirtiest, forsaken armpits of all the digital landscape. Being a programmer, I can vouch for that. So my hat is off to the guys who pulled all of this together to make something for people like you or me, who just want to use dvd players and ps3's or other playback devices... This is a pretty decent job. The software licensing requires that you download this in four pieces (and some of the sourceforge mirrors seem to not have it atm), but it's otherwise very graceful. And pretty doggone stable so far for me. It has a canned setup for making ipod/iphone/psp encoding easy to set up.
