Typically, there's bouldering and rope climbing... you use pads for bouldering and stay out of the way of the climbers. On the rope side, there may be a line that shows how high you can go without a rope- you can boulder and traverse up to that line as long as you're not getting in the way of other climbers.

Hey, I'm Brian Carter and I freaking love rock climbing.

I've been climbing since 1999... but then I moved in 2007 to an area with no outdoor rock climbing within four hours! So mostly what I get now is indoor rock climbing- that's better than no rock climbing at all, and I've always loved bouldering anyway.

I travel a lot too, and it's easier to get to a rock climbing gym in the midst of all that than drive out somewhere...

So this is my killer new site about indoor rock climbing. Enjoy!
