This is one of the walkways that steps down under the dual carriageway that surrounds 55 Degrees North in the centre of Newcastle.

I have been reliable informed that although its called 55 degrees North it is not actually at 55 Degrees North.

I was out this morning with some of the Flickr photo walk people, and Phil just can't resist climbing anywhere that might be dangerous - although it would have been my neck he broke falling from there!

Anyway, I just liked the strong contrast and angular lines in this. Taken from the 55 North underpass between Metro Radio and the Holy Jesus Hospital on City Road.

Well after looking at and real worlds friends and now flickr friend Andy Turner photos recently I decided it was time to buy a pair.

I've tried taking a self-portrait shots before however has spend so much time being critical about how I look in the shot I haven't used many. I normally find myself trying to pose like some kind of model. The only issue being; some kind of model I am not.

The idea of this close shot "stolen" from Andy; however I actually think works.
