John Howard, Australian Prime Minister, Man of Steel, the man who has called opposing parties before him in the past spineless for doing the same acts, has done a complete 180 degree turn on his statement that he would not be amending his WorkChoices package between now and the next federal election. Why would he do such a thing? Because the polls told him so.

John Howard, the Australian Prime Minister, has always wanted to reform industrial relations in the country since he came to office in 1996. During his latest term in office, he finally managed to pass legislation through both houses of parliament to do so. The Australian people are now starting to feel the bite and realise how evil this legislation really is.

I am against the use of the death penalty for all crimes. Even Saddam Hussein should not have received the death penalty as all human beings are entitled to the right to life. The United Nations have enacted this into the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that I have scrolling to the right of this blog. I always like to reference it, as I strongly believe in what it stands for, human rights for all people irrespective of race, religion or socioeconomic status.

Countries around the world have implemented anti-terrorism laws to ensure that the security of their nation remains in tact. In doing so, certain civil rights and freedoms have been compromised. After a terrorist act, people generally accept the loss of their rights in order to keep order and cohesion in their country. But as time goes on, people start to question their countries intentions by implementing these anti-terrorism laws. One of those countries under fire for its anti-terrorism laws is Sri Lanka.

Whatever one may think about defining a person by their paycheck, a person's paycheck often determines what kind of life they will lead. For a majority of Americans, their paycheck limits the quality of their life. Weekly wages of non-supervisory private sector workers today are lower in real terms (adjusted for inflation) than in the early 1960s, and are 17 per cent lower than their peak in 1972.

The US led invasion of Iraq is now entering its fifth year with no real end in sight. George W Bush believes that by increasing the number of troops by 21,500 and by implementing a so called change of plan, that this will make all the difference and that all the critics should just "Give it a chance". Is he right and why does everyone seem to bag this idea?

The crisis in Darfur feels like it has been going on forever. It is more like a roller coaster though with the conflict getting worse and then appearing to get better with talk of peace treaties and then falling through at the last minute.
