Nay, play SU backwards and listen to what happens!

****

Now this hurts . Big time. I saw it when Happi posted it originally.
Mercifully we do know how to chat with each other. But here goes
another rubber tree plant. She didn't even get to v4! Imagine!

I quote HAPPIBUN:

Dec 17 2008

So it comes to this.

SU is scrapping the classic page view in January.
I spent ages crafting my pages to look how I wanted them to,
but with the advent of the new look SU and reduction of functionality
in the classic view, I have found that I hardly visit my own pages any more.
Quite honestly, I can't be arsed with a site that treats it's volunteer
content providers in such a way.

I still use the toolbar stumble button, but if that goes the same way,
there will be nothing at all to keep me interested in SU at all.

My good Stumble friends know how to find me elsewhere if they wish.

So not with a bang, but a whimper.

Farewell SU.

~*~*~

Not good at all. Nay. Not a boo word since.
ARF!

Quotation ~ Shirley's Blog:

If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while, waiting for you,
and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living.

When you can see that, you begin to meet people
who are in your field of bliss, and they open doors to you.

I say, follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open
where you didn't know they were going to be.

Shirley to a T.

Trying to catch up with Shirley is like trying to lassoo a cyclone.
She's either "here", or "there" or "somewhere in between".
No wonder she invited you to take a trip on her Jello Sea.
This woman is full of wonderful surprises at every turn.
She is deeper than Jello,
Lighter than the country air she breathes up at her "other" house.
A woman with a rapier wit.
As talented with her paintbrushes and easel as most any I've seen hereabout.
Her knowledge is just short of encyclopaedic.
I think she must have invented the word "blog" - her's will make you suck your breath in.
But it's going to be alright - grab a small small bag, and breathe slowly into it.
1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 and 6... keep breathing ....
I spent four hours without a break with Shriley, while she was sleeping, last night
and by the time I literally forced myself away, I was lightheaded.
I'd have to write a book of short stories about this woman. I won't,
I'd probably end up with Gone With the Wind.
She blows smoke in my tail pipe.
This performance comes from a September 21, 2008
California Conservatory of Music in West Hills
near Los Angeles, California.

Here she was ably accompanied Paul Switzler on piano.

* PERRY COMO *

The singing barber woke me up to this lively tune this morning,
thus setting the pace for my entire day. Hot diggity! Boom!

~*~*~*~

Hot_Diggity_(Dog_Ziggity_Boom)

Oh, hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! what you do to me!
It's so new to me
what you do to me!
Hot diggity, dog ziggity,
Boom! What you do to me,
When you're holding me tight.

Never dreamed anybody could kiss that-a-way,
bring me bliss that-a-way, what a kiss that-a-way.
What a wonderful feeling to feel that-a-way --
Tell me where have you been all my life?

Oh, hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! What you do to me,
It's so new to me,
What you do to me!
Hot diggity, dog ziggity,
Boom! What you do to me,
When you're holding me tight.

Never knew that my heart could go "zing" that-a-way
Ting-a-ling that-a-way, make me sing that-a-way,
I said "goodbye" to my troubles, they went that-a-way,
Ever since you came into my life.

Oh, hot diggity, dog ziggity,
Boom! What you do to me,
It's so new to me
What you do to me!
Hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! What you do to me
When you're holding me tight.

[Instrumental Interlude]

There's a cute little cottage for two that-a-way,
Skies are blue that-a-way, dreams come true that-a-way
If you say I can share it with you that-a-way,
I'll be happy the rest of my life!

Oh, hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! what you do to me,
It's so new to me,
What you do to me!
Hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! What you do to me,
When you're holding me tight.

Oh, hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! What you do to me --
Now my future will shine!
Hot diggity, dog ziggity
Boom! What you'll do to me
From the moment you're mine!

Hot Dog!

[Lyrics: Al Hoffman and Dick Manning]

~*~*~

This song was #1 on the American Hit Parade of 1956.
My husband proposed to me with these lyrics that year and --
a year later, on August 14, 1957 we got married!
The rest is history: we're still living in that little cottage
that-a-way, dreams come true that-a-way.
Zing go the strings of my heart that-a-way!
Hot diggity, hot ziggity what he does to me that-a-way!
Boom! Hot dog!

* GLOOMY SUNDAY *

Sadly one Sunday I waited and waited,
With flowers in my arms for the dream I'd created.
I waited 'til dreams, like my heart, were all broken,
The flowers were all dead and the words were unspoken.
The grief that I knew was beyond all consoling,
The beat of my heart was a bell that was tolling --

Saddest of Sundays.

Then came a Sunday when you came to find me,
They bore me to church and I left you behind me.
My eyes could not see one I wanted to love me,
The earth and the flowers are forever above me.
The bell tolled for me and the wind whispered, "Never!"
But you I have loved and I bless you forever --

Last of all Sundays.

[Paul Robeson's interpretation of Hugarian,
Rezso Seress' original.]
ROBESON ON PAUL ROBESON:

"Like any other people, like fathers, mothers, sons and daughters in every land,
when the issue of peace or war has been put squarely to the American people,
they have registered for peace." ~

"We must join with the tens of millions all over the world who see in peace our most
sacred responsibility." ~

"Once we are joined together in the fight for peace we will have to talk to each other
and tell the truth about each other. How else can peace be won?" ~

"I shall take my voice wherever there are those who want to hear the melody of freedom or
the words that might inspire hope and courage in the face of fear. My weapons are peaceful,
for it is only by peace that peace can be attained. The song of freedom must prevail."
