My reviews will often look like a harsh dialect of L33T!speak on each review page because SU filters out character entities.

I'm open to new friends, but we must have something in common, or at least be on the same wavelength as to the creation of SU reviews. It's OK if we swing towards completely opposite sides of political spectrum or any other matter, as long as you feature intelligent commentary (preferably without bias).

The new ‘friends’ vs. ‘subscriber’ division takes away something that I felt was very crucial to my use of StumbleUpon: the initiation of a friendship. Now, if I discover somebody I like, I am stumped as to whether to subscribe to their pages, or friend them. If I friend them, will they understand why? Will they think that I have misunderstood the System of Subscription? Do I have to send a PM explaining why I’ve befriended them—an application to want to watch the content of the individual’s blog and have the possibility of further communication?

PlayerMatt asks for the difference between StumbleUpon and Myspace, now. They are slowly becoming one and the same. StumbleUpon is rapidly adopting the elitist and often stupid (I have 100 imaginary friends (MySpace)/subscribers (StumbleUpon)! Yay!) tactics that Myspace embodies. I am in serious internal debate as of this moment as to whether I should keep using this service, or find something else to contribute to.

Until I reach a decision as to whether to continue blogging on SU, I will evaluate all ‘friends requests’ on an individual basis. If I like your blog, and think that we could possibly have something to talk (or debate! I’m open to those with alternative opinions) about, I will accept.

Postscript: I decided to stay, but feel like a battered housewife in an abusive relationship: “where else would I go”?
