Oh man... this is sucking the life out of me. I thought if I just didn't check messages it would free up my free time a little more. WRONG! I must uninstall the StumbleUpon tool-bar for awhile and be more productive in the real world. I'll be back eventually. ;~)

Lately I've had some interesting conversations / messages back & forth with several people on OKcupid.com about what we're all doing over there - or at least *trying* to do. I don't know if I've come to any real conclusions yet that haven't already been pointed out by others, but apparently, I'm not the only one who feels like a dating retard sometimes...

It made me think of this Physical v/s Mental Attractiveness graph I saved awhile back.

click on the graph below to read an interesting article explaining "Attraction and Love".
It's not a very pretty layout, but it IS a good read:

There's a shorter, much easier to read article about it found HERE called Theory of Attraction. Don't mind the whacked-out grammar and bad spelling - it gets right to the point.

While trying to find a video to explain this theory I came across this VERY DAMN CUTE clip by Ranjit Tripathi and Suban Dey titled appropriately, "The Attraction Theory". Very clever.

click to watch

It also made me think of the Uncanny Valley and how these two charts *must* intersect in certain areas.

click the graph to read the Wikipedia page on what this means if you're not familiar:

I might work on a blend of the two if I get really damn bored...
but don't hold your breath waiting for me to post it.

UPDATE:
I'm never going to take the time to blend the two graphs - but I was thinking how funny it'd be to do that and also merge a third overlay... a fetish graph. I was thinking that since everyone's got their own definition of what's kinky / fetishy to them it'd be damn near impossible to find a place on the Mental / Physical attractiveness chart for this overlay but I can think of several kinks just off the top of my head that would fit nicely onto the Uncanny Valley chart. (All you furries out there know what I'm talking about...) hahaha!

oh dear.

I LIKE IT WHEN...

...there's some really uptight soccer-mom all stressed out on her cell phone at the red light next to me & trying to make me give her the "o.k." hand motion so she can cut in front of me when the light turns green.

I especially like it when I take that opportunity to wink at her, stick my tongue way out, all pointy-like and slowly lick the air at her to make her think that I assumed she was hitting on me, THEN give her the o.k. sign and smile while bouncing my eyebrows up & down a couple of quick times.

the TRUE icing on the cake at that moment?

She shot me a horrified and disgusted face of sincere repulsion and disapproval, but jumped in front of me anyway.

I'M VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I'LL BE SENDING OUT MY FIRST
REAL ESTATE NEWSLETTER BY THIS WEEKEND!

It will be a hard-copy only (for now) but I plan on digitizing it eventually (maybe the next month or two) so for now it will be a USPS mail-out newsletter.

If you'd like to be added to my newsletter mail-to list, send me your name and address - I'll be more than happy to include you!

LOOKING TO BUY A HOME?
I work with buyers and sellers. Much of my buyer business comes from connections I make through the internet - many of whom are relocating here to Georgia from out of state. I am well versed with helping those from out of town who are not familiar with the city or its neighborhoods.

Let me help you find your next home! If you are unable to travel to Atlanta, I will take 20+ photos each of the main properties you are interested in and post them to the internet so you can see as much of it as possible before traveling to Georgia - including photos of the outside of the home, the surrounding homes, the main street, the neighborhood, surrounding businesses, etc...

I've handled transactions from beginning to end for people who were unable to ever preview the property themselves or to even make it to the closing! With creative problem solving, hard work, and being able to set you at ease by explaining things in an intelligent, down-to-earth way - I will quickly be able to help you find the home you love and make it yours! I also pride myself in finding homes for less money than what you approve for. There are EXCELLENT deals to be had in the Atlanta Metro area - call me to find out!

WANT TO SELL YOUR HOME?
I manage several online real estate and business discussion groups and maintain NUMEROUS online profiles on many different websites - so I have a large network of internet business associates and friends from all over the world that I am able to advertise properties to. Along with all of the old-fashioned, tried-and-true marketing practices, I use all of the most advanced technologies to make sure my listings get the maximum exposure.

Sign up for a copy of my newsletter and stay informed! Just send me a private message here on StumbleUpon or an e-mail to my e-mail address listed below and include your name and address and you'll soon be in the know.

I don't know WHAT the influx of religious people stumbling onto my profile is about here lately, but let me make something clear. I don't know you - you DO NOT know me - and I'm o.k. with that. Seriously. If you have judgements about how you think i should believe, behave, or speak - I honestly don't care to hear them.

As long as you're not trying to change my government with pressure from your religious group, as long as you're not screwing 13 year old girls or molesting 10 year old boys, as long as you're not condoning suicide bombers or killing abortion doctors sniper style - no big whoop, right?

I'm a grown woman and I don't need any religious persuasion from a stranger off the internet on how concerned I should be about my afterlife.

I use the word fuck a lot. I use it liberally and on purpose. It's descriptive and cuts to the chase. You KNOW what someone's talking about when they say, FUCK! Like in this example, "...These people passing judgement on me are FUCKED!..." ha!
(just kidding - kind of...)

anywho - I seriously am not part of the Stumble Upon community to discuss politics or religion. Take a look at my photo-blog here. It's all about music and movies and pop-culture stuff. Simply put - art, humor, and escapism.

I deal with enough serious stuff in my day to day real world experience and would like to enjoy this interaction in a goofy, non-judgemental way. Live and let live - don't start nuthin', won't be nuthin'. that's how i like to roll.

and just to clarify - i'm not angry or upset - just trying to set some boundaries...

PART ONE OF THREE

I've found it most intriguing that almost everyone I ask about it interprets this photograph very differently.

.
When I originally posted this photo - I asked a friend what they saw when looking at it. His response was so different from what I saw that I thought it'd be interesting to see how differently people perceive art like this. So I asked that people send to me their take on what they thought was going on in this scenario. I've decided to share some of these responses with everyone. Thanks SO MUCH to those who took the time to reply!!!

I probably had about 1,000 hits to my blog in the time I had this request for people's input up. Of those 1,000 people to stop by, I had 34 people comment. Here's the breakdown of those responses:

Men with a serious response: 22
Men with a humorous response: 7
Women with a serious response: 3
Women with a humorous response: 2

I had many people ask if their answer was correct which I found most interesting as I thought it was quite obvious that I am not the photographer. In other words - there is no right or wrong answer. I have no idea why this photo was taken or what it was used for. I can tell you that the photographers name is PATRICK DEMARCHELIER and he is a high-fashion photographer. You can find his webpage by clicking his name in all caps (listed above).

Without further ado, here are the responses starting with my own since so many of you asked for me to return the favor and share what I thought. ALSO - please realize that some of the people who responded do not speak English as a first language so take that into consideration while reading:

37 year old Female from Georgia, USA
in their relationship, he is the dominant one. she is not only agreeably submissive to him, but compelled to his will - almost uncontrollably so; she can't help herself when she's with him. in fact, she doesn't even fight the internal struggle of giving in and letting go with him any more. he's in her head more than anything. just thinking of him excites her yet his touch is calming and soothes her - erotically intoxicating perhaps - maybe that's why she looks like her head is spinning.

they've just come home from an evening out and she's a little tired and a tiny bit tipsy. She took her dress off and he asked her to sit before removing anything else. Standing over her with his crotch at eye level to her, he is telling her how absolutely fucking beautiful she was tonight. he wants to direct her in giving him head now so while flexing his control (his index finger pressing against her throat, his thumb directing the movement of her mouth and the rest of his fingers gently cradling her face) he tells her this.

Male from Appleby, England, UK
the lady is in a state of undress!! O_O.. clearly she has fainted and the gentlemen removed her dress to allow her to breathe more completely - placing her limp and overcome upon the sofa. where upon he patiently and with honourable intent, watched her recover. She awaking shortly thereafter is now attempting to rise from the sofa - but she is still weak from her excited state and becomes woozy. the gentleman prepared for this has in his hands some smelling salts which he graciously introduces to her whilst supporting her drooping head. innocently of course

Sure I wrote about that picture... I mean the sexual angle is obvious it completely rocks with passion. I'm want to take the less than obvious route to raise a smile. Honestly... I think that she has had an amazing time with a generous and wonderful lover who has dressed to leave her, and that's his last lingering touch which she want to last and last

Male from Tennessee, USA
i love that pic it shows a bit of everything from male dominance to the tantalizing touch of a lover...it truly hits all the sensuous points of eroticisim
on that pic, which I have seen on SU alot, the man is dominant "petting the pussycat" His authority is emphasized by the fact that he has no face. Her expression submissive like 'please pet me.' I dont understand what any mystery is about this photo. This is run-of-the-mill pornographic stuff for guys, and may as well be a still in a porno movie.
1. The man is telling her to get up and turn around... placing her knees in the seat so he can give her a spanking for being a little brat... or 2. He is caressing her softly because she just finished giving him the best blow job he's ever had ... that's what actually popped into my mind when I saw it before you asked :)
Not to be rude, but it looks like a prostitute not wanting to have sex.
you're right, there could be a lotta different interpretations. But since the man is cupping her chin while standing, that probably indicates some sort of power difference and serves to create tension and urgency in the picture. Kinda forboding... Beginning of a BDSM thingy? a potential fight between her and the bf? any number of possiblities
he's been away for a while and she was going to totally jump his bones, but his initial caress is enough (for now, hehe).
Ok, my take on that pic is that she is the woman of the house, she is very wealthy, she in my mind is obviously succumbing to "his" seduction with no words being spoken between the two, it has been coming in her erotic thoughts and fantasies, she knows she should not allow herself induldge in this highly erotic desire of hers...she is married...but...not to "him" ( I am just trying to figure out who "he" really is/could be)
Hi! Regarding the lovely erotic photo...to me, she has been "bad" in someway and is remorseful. However, he has forgiven her for whatever she has done and so she now appears grateful and relieved..and is willing to do whatever he wishes or asks. This is, of course, a perfect male fantasy! I would be really interested in how you & others have interpreted this image (especially female)...Cheers!
i think the girl is really pissed, and the man is goin to let her c his member so she can make a "job"...
From her whole pose, she seems determined to fulfill any of his wishes. But then again, he is not directly in front of her but rather a bit on her side so I wouldn't guess she'd grab his dick right away but rather follow him to some place to enjoy whatever is on their minds though it most probably will be something really sexy ... ;-) ... like ... eh, no, not really that explicit ... ;-)
The person holding her chin is a man. They have known each other for a while, but less than a year. They have weekly interludes at a middle priced hotel in a medium sized city...an older city like St. Louis or Richmond. It started quite innocently, a look, a glance...at a local club. They got to talking and they each liked what the other told them, which was not the truth. They are both married. He wears his ring during their interludes, she does not. They have constructed a mildly destructive relationship, mostly sexual in nature, based on control and role play. It serves both their needs. Their spouses are not bad people, and their relationships are not lost...they just have never learned to revel what they are and what they need to the ones closest to them. She desperately wants to find something more, a place where she is loved and urgently desired, thinking that to be the true measure of happiness. He does not. Within their space, they are sexually charged...and utterly doomed.

Both of them know this.

Both of them still continue...
That photo has some incredible deep shading making it very dramatic. I'm a bit confused about the photo With the sharp shading it makes me think something dramatic is happening. At first glimpse I see the mans hand cupping the girls chin in a comforting way. As if he wants to reassure her. But the girl doesn't look sad or scared or even unsure of herself. She does look as if she's enjoying the sensuousness of his hand. Although for some reason it looks like an act. Her lingerie doesn't look like something an everyday lover would wear for her man and her legs are spread in a un-lady like fashion.

This leads me to believe that what we're looking at is a man inspecting the women in a brothel.
I think that anything I say would say more about me, than about the picture. I'm going to have to think about it, before giving a really decent answer, rather than my usual flippant response. ;)

OK. My serious answer is that the male thinks he's in control, but the female is actually controlling him. And, it's going to turn out that she's got far more power than he does.
Regarding the explanation of what's happening in that photograph... it's clear. The woman was feeling unwell, and had requested that her doctor, pictured standing, make a house call on his way home after a busy day at the clinic. His professional and confident hands are seen here examining her neck for enlarged glands. As his hands brush her skin, she feels her fever more strongly than ever. Her breathing quickens as she notices an ever-so-slight contour of engorgement subtly revealed in his trousers nearby. Little fireworks began to explode, simultaneously, in her brain and deep between her legs. She raises one trembling hand and grazes the nails of her fingers up the length of his fly. Before reaching the top, the contour is no longer slight, but straining elastically against the thin fabric. With her other hand, she lowers the zipper and fumbles the warmth within, her fingers absorbing and delivering. His fingers are in her mouth now, his other hand gently flowing through her hair, forming a fist at the end of each stroke, grabbing, pulling. He slides one strap off her shoulder, pulls her up to his lips, wetting her breast with his quivering tongue.

His other hand has slid between her legs, its physician's fingers knowingly touching, exploring, teasing. There is wetness now, both on her hand and his, and the fever mounts. Her legs open slightly in anticipation...
In the picture: she wants to be controlled (by the man or by drugs) to release her from her feelings and inhibitions so that she can be erotically or sexually abandoned without having to deal with any feelings of guilt. He likes to be in a controlling or "caring" position. He's probably older than her, so he likes the feeling of being with a younger women; she likes the security and perception of safety of being with an older man. Her being undressed whilst he's fully clothed adds to her feeling of being "small" and controlled, as well as adding to his feeling of power

33 year old Male, Illinois, USA
That picture looks to me like its showing sex in an office. they are professionals and she seems to be in love. Shes not looking at him but feeling very turned on by his touch. She undressed first in anticipation. His touch on her face looks tender--Relaxed fingers, a gentle cupping of her face. Their pose (and her being more nude) suggests he is a bit of an authority figure.

44 year old Male, Madagascar
Ok, my first impression is that the photo posted depicts a "prelude" to sex...but when looking closely, the many is fully dressed and the woman seems to be stressed...looking at her eyebrows and body language. I would guess that she was either caught doing something she was not suppose to be doing...ie. an illicit affair (or something of the same ilk) or she is being demeaned by this man in a controlling manner (whether by choice or by force is hard to tell).

34 year old Male, Georgia, USA
she's done something wrong. she was disobedient. she was punished and he refused to see her. she waited for him in the parlor for hours. he's finally come out of his den to see if she's learned from her mistake. the only thing she wants is for his acceptance and love. he asks if she understands what she has done and why he is forced to isolate her from him. she begs forgiveness. he is considering whether to give it.
A. Sir, caressing and cradling his pets cheek after a firm face slap.
B. Gurl being encouraged to endure some form of mechanical pleasuring.
C. Sir, returned home early to find his pet waiting patiently for him. Gratefully, Sir gently lifts his pet from the couch.
D. Man cradling a hypnotized subjects chin.

50 year old Male, Indiana, USA
What she's playing: Either he has a lot of dough, or she really hates her parents. In any event, she's playing being manipulative.
What's he playing? He playing that he thinks he's being a kind good Joe, or he's playing a total creep. Irrespective of the "motivation," He's playing a guy who's being used.

Male, California
hhhmm, is she longing for his touch, is she quivering with anticipation, or can she not stomach the touch of the slimeball and she wishes she could cut his nuts off and stuff them down his throat...
