This is the Mosque built by Salah Al Diin at Hittin after his victory over the crusaders. It's fenced off so it cannot be maintained or used, somewhere of great historical interest is simply being allowed to go to rack and ruin. A report published in 2004 by the Arab Human Rights Association, based in Nazareth, identified 250 places of worship, both Islamic and Christian, that had either been destroyed or made unusable since Israel's establishment in 1948. Nearly 200 were razed in the wake of the 1948 war, but the threat of destruction hangs over many surviving places of worship too.
Hello everyone, and sorry if you're disappointed by the lack of new posts. I'm hoping to be able to spend more time here soon, as you're here why not check out my friends or subscriptions blogs. I'm not very good at giving reviews, the better a blog is the more difficult it is to do a review to do it justice; but I assure you I have *great taste* in friends and subscriptions.

Good news, we're no longer part of ebay. I'm really pleased about this. I don't think it was a good match. I got fed up of the attempts to introduce geographical ordering of reviews: I'm on the internet to break spatial constraints, not to be fed localised advertising, you can congratulate the team Here.

Nearly 4 years later the puzzle remains about the 4 British suicide bombers, this article suggesting that it was some sort of Columbine incident adds to the motley bag of possible explanations.

Brainwashed by foreign jihadists - opening a new front!

Brainwashed by domestic jihadists - cells everywhere!

Inner city blight - all over Britain!

Middle class anomie - all over Britain!

2nd or 3rd generation immigrant alienation - all over Britain!

Fitted up by the state - none of us are safe!

Psychopaths - all over Britain!

The national press couldn't quite agree on how to describe Beeston in Leeds where the men lived and/or worked. Most went for a "unutterable horror hiding behind pleasant leafy suburban streets" line, with the remainder opting for a "concrete jungle of deprivation, vandalised and neglected properties beset by violence and intimidation" motif. The local press didn't describe the area themselves, but fretted that it was going to be "painted bad" in the national and international media. As I live and work in Leeds I also heard first hand comments from people who lived in Beeston.

The parents of one of the men were "millionaires you know"

It's unemployment

I bet it's drugs

I'm just angry that they live near my parents and we've got that mosque just round the corner

I know for a factthat the TV offered several people in that street - some of them were white by the way - thousands to dish dirt, and got absolutely nowhere. They're planning to organise vigilantes if the media start harassing the family after everthing they've been through.

The most seemingly bizarre comment was a petulant and resentful "Typical!" I queried how something unprecedented in the area could be described as "typical". This woman who possesses two university degrees, one of which is in a 'people skills' sort of subject, stuck to her story and started whining about immigrants. People started to stare. Someone said she had a point. I remembered the family of Afghan refugees who had had a long struggle to get political asylum in the UK after being persecuted by the Taliban for their liberal views. They had woken to find their street cut off by a cordon of armed police searching the area. Just what were these people moaning about? As I refused to accept their rationalisations they moved through concerns for elderly parents and the possibility that their chidren would be molested(!) to settle on a sort of non specific "you can't deny the place is going to the dogs" theme and heated complaints about house prices.

I ask you - fucking house prices! Sounds better doesn't it- 'I'm simply concerned about my families safety' rather than 'I'm a racist because we can get financial benefits that way'? Hmmm, this makes me wonder, I've seen precious little in the papers about property prices in Tel Aviv. The Israelis were moaning their heads off about Hamas rockets despite there being about 100 Palestinian casualties for every Israeli one, the horror of fighting people with no regular army with only F16s and helicopter gunships, white phosphorus and DIME and prisons galore to fall back on (don't mention the nukes). "We're fighting for Our Peoples Very Survival". Sounds better than "Support our right to increasing property prices" doesn't it?

Which reminds me that I took a certain pleasure in the news that Intel's new chips will be manufactured in the US. Three years ago Ehud Olmert boasted of Intel's five billion dollar investment in the production of Conroe and Penryn inside Israel. "Hamas doesn't frighten them, Terror doesn't frighten them" he trumpeted while claiming that the deal would enhance Israel's prestige in the world. Information from the UK magazine PC Plus May 2006

I don't know the reasons for Intel's decision. Perhaps their is fear that growing global aversion to the apartheid state could sully Intel's prestige. For some people, this would be the deal breaker which stopped a defection to Intel's rival AMD. Perhaps Israel has finally overreached itself. Ehud Olmert's public address in Ashkelon in January in which he bragged of forcing Condoleeza Rice to fail to vote for the UN resolution calling for a ceasefire that she had actually written herself was unlikely to go down so well in the US. Patrick Buchanan wrote this on his website:
"Public gloating by an Israeli prime minister that he can order a U.S. president off a podium and instruct him to reverse and humiliate his secretary of state may cause even Ehud's poodle to rise up on its hind legs one day and bite its master." Source
"I have had a lot of rigs and a lot of cases and it sometimes wears off--that new love for the new case. But I still feel th same way about this case as I did when I opened the box.

There is NO window--no LED fans to look at--no doors--it's the ANTI-case. And I have no desire to alter or modify it. It just does its thing sitting about 2 feet away on my desk at eye level. I look at it constantly when I am not working or posting

I've looked at every inch of it so much that I now have found every tiny scuff, even the ding from when I first took it apart and the door fell over when my foot hit it. That would be th only thing I wuld like to do...somehow erase that almost imperceptible crease.
But even my stupid damage to my new case in the very few minutes smoehow just made it even more exclusively mine...
What can I say...it's the perfect case for me...almost intimidating...my Nemesis. Knowing that no matter how high my skill level may become one day I will still never have what it takes to make this level of case: it requires industrial capacities I cannot imagine.
Soldam Windy cases aren't on sale in the US. In EU they are illegal because of some bizarree health and safety ruling from Brussels. The company has had difficulties recently despite recognition in Japan and round the world.

SU not working - can't rate sites in "what's new" correctly. This is my favourite feature of the new interface and without it I'd have stayed with classic as long as possible. Classic now seems to have gone. Grrrr. Any site a friend likes, either I can't get the site to show or I'm invited to discover it.
