God saw you getting tired

To my Beloved Grandfather Roy Morrow. He left us Saturday Nov 7th, at 3:20pm cst. He went quietly in his home with my mom holding his hand as he passed on to his eternal life. He will be missed!

The Real Story of Halloween

Being that Halloween isn't really a celebration and that it was looked at as a night of bad spirits, I personally don't allow my kids to dress up as monsters or evil characters. I just stress the blessing of the fall harvest, which is the season for squash/pumpkins etc. They do dress up as other things that do not represent evil however.�

It's also a time to spend with your children carving pumpkins, and making baked pumpkin seeds or pumpkin pie. It is interesting to know the meaning behind it though, and to know what exactly you are celebrating.

Hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween.

UPDATE: Hate Crimes Bill has just been signed on Oct. 22 after Democrats strategically attached it to a "must-pass" $680 billion defense appropriations plan.

This particular Act would not protect, however, Christians, heterosexuals, veterans, or for that matter, our First Amendment right. Brad Dacus said it best when he stated:

""It is fundamentally unjust for the government to treat some crime victims more favorably than others, just because they are homosexual or transsexual," Dacus said.

"This bill is an unnecessary federal intrusion into state law enforcement authority, and it is an unwise step toward silencing religious and moral viewpoints."

Most Republicans, although normally strong supporters of the U.S. military, opposed the bill because it hands out federal money to states and local governments in pursuit of "preventing" hate crimes. The bill creates federal protections and privileges for homosexuals and other alternative lifestyles but denies those protections to other groups of citizens.

Just to put into prospective, let's give a scenario of what this would mean; A man walks up to you and your child, exposes himself, and you hit him with your purse; if he complains to authorities that you have hurt him or attacked him, and he is considered a pedophile (or whatever sexual illness he may have), your actions would be considered a hate crime and therefore you have committed a felony in the eyes of the law under this act. This is no exaggeration. Sound inconceivable, or completely outrageous?

U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder admitted a homosexual activist who is attacked following a Christian minister's sermon about homosexuality would be protected by the proposed federal law, but a minister attacked by a homosexual wouldn't be.

President of the American Family Association, Tim Wildmon, warned that the new law "creates a kind of caste system in law enforcement, where the perverse thing is that people who engage in non-normative sexual behavior will have more legal protection than heterosexuals. This kind of inequality before the law is simply un-American."
