Hermitbiker - It's been a well known fact for years that their 1st albumn was almost entirely, if not entirely, songs that had been around for years !! From old blues to Joan Baez originals, redone the Led Zeppelin way/style !! Back then, they listened to their manager, producer and the record company... they were told that everybody did that !! Re-invent other people's music and put their name on it... which caused them a lot in copyright's infringements... but everyone involved came out of it "happy"... well kind of !! So here's a "Salute" to the damn best "cover band" ever formed... LED ZEPPELIN !! After their 1st albumn, their 2nd LP still had some "covers" but it also had some of their own great originals too !! So who really cares... Page,Plant and Bonham could take anybodies music and re-invent it and make it Led Zeppelin !! All people involved were paid "royalties" for their original songs that really never went anywhere until Led Zeppelin came along !! Hail Hail the original heavy metal band !! Yep, you guessed it.... LZ !!

Chad4848 - Most of you people arn't getting this. They didn't COVER a lot of their songs. Given, some of these songs are just covers and it's common knowledge. BUT they did steal ALL OF THEIR MUSIC from other artists. There's a website somehwere that goes song by song, and every song besides Kashmir is plagiarized.

dwightkschrute00 - Yawner. DOZENS of bands have done this. How come this site didn't make any mention of "Surfin' USA" being a direct rewrite of "Sweet Little Sixteen"? Oh yeah, that's right, we have to knock the big bad Zeppelin down a peg. Also, what happened to "How Many More Times"?

maxrobertson - It's a cop out to say that it's OK for Led Zep to screw people out of royalties and credit just because other people did it. I trust bands to come up with their own stuff. Yeah, no one creates art in a vacuum (thank God), but there are certain scruples that I personally believe artists need to hold up. They've lost a lot of my respect.
