Blanco-Conejo - "By stressing to the public that the effort is not only military, the administration may be trying to reassure those in uniform who have begun "COMPLAINING" that only members of the armed services are being asked to sacrifice for the (war) effort."

To you "COMPLAINERS IN UNIFORM" I have four comments:

1.) If you are unhappy with your career choice, or sacrifices that you must make as a result of your career choice, if your personal Cost-Benefit ratio is too high for your liking, LEAVE THE MILITARY as soon as legally possible.

2.) I DO NOT EXPECT TO SACRIFICE FOR A WAR I ADAMANTLY OPPOSE! In reality I am sacrificing. My tax dollars are paying for this war instead of insurance for uninsured U.S. citizens, the national debt is increasing as a result of this war, my elected officials are so dammed involved with this war, that they are not paying attention to or improving problems that domestically affect all U.S. citizens.

Believe it or not, I admire service members who are willingly risking their lives for something THEY BELIEVE IN (I QUESTION IF THAT'S THE REAL CASE FOR THE MAJORITY OF COMPLAINERS). Their concern and efforts ARE MIS-DIRECTED.

3.) COMPLAINING MILITARY MEMBERS, you should remember that you are JUST HIRED GUN-SLINGERS, OR MERCENARIES WHO HAVE NO CHOICE WHETHER TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY GIVEN GUNFIGHT. If you accept this lack of control or influence, then stay in the military. If you do not accept this lack of control or influence, the subsequent sacrifices, and individual assessment of your personal Cost-Benefit ratio, then I suggest you find some other occupation as soon as you legally can.

4.) There is a Cost-Benefit ratio for any given situation. MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND! Please don't COMPLAIN TO OR ABOUT ME for choices that you have personally and individually made. You were in control when you made such choices and must assume responsiblity for the ramification of such decisions.
