RR16 - From the page: "Believe it or not, Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). This in fact is the greatest deception in the history of science. We are wasting time, energy and trillions of dollars while creating unnecessary fear and consternation over an issue with no scientific justification. For example, Environment Canada brags about spending $3.7 billion in the last five years dealing with climate change almost all on propaganda trying to defend an indefensible scientific position while at the same time closing weather stations and failing to meet legislated pollution targets. "

Bransby - From wikipedia: "People from over 130 countries contributed to the IPCC Fourth Assessment Report over the previous 6 years. These people included more than 2500 scientific expert reviewers, more than 850 contributing authors, and more than 450 lead authors"
The 4th review referred to above came to the conclusion that there is around a 90% chance that global warming is happening and is caused by humans.

Entirely up to you of course, you can believe this one bloke who is, as far as can be told, a professor of climatology. Or you can believe thousands of his peers. Your call.

guswfla - Through bore-hole research, it's been discovered that global warming started about 1500 A.D. when man began clearing forests to plant crops. While it's likely that natural causes are contributing to the phenomenon, to not try to reduce man's contribution to global warming would be foolish.

skuzzbunny - please THINK rationally: all this SCIENTIST is saying is that there is a BIG difference between a SCIENTIFIC issue and a POLITICAL issue. "global warming" has become COMPLETELY politicised. the science of the issue has become completely irrelevant, as POLITICIANS are now in control of it, NOT the SCIENTIFIC METHOD. OF COURSE this needs to be researched and we should probably implement some interum precautions, but research does not happen when you already know the "right" answer!) this has happened before, folks. the more non-scientific people who do not understand the scientific method and what science really is all about that get involved with this thing, the stupider this will get. perhaps this current hysteria won't cause any great tragedies, but it will certainly cause much stupidity and inefficiency at least, and will be another blot on scientific history for decades to come. please, put this back in the hands of real scientists where it obviously belongs and let them do some serious research (yes, gasp, it will take some time, years of course! climate change takes mellenia folks.) before you throw some graphs together and flip everyone the hell out. peace.
