However, he is the President of the United states. I'd just like to know who is wondering if President Obama is "the messiah" and what is the motivation for asking such a question. The many people I speak with regularly are not pondering this and I'm a bit off put by even the thought that this is some how a serious inquiry. I do understand the need to cover bullshit in the name of parody and satire these days, so do help me understand what the question means please help me to become familiar with those who are asking it.


I must admit that it is more than a bit amusing that some need to continually remind us that President Obama's middle name is Hussain and that his father was a Muslim while others out the in cyberworld are pondering the messianic implications of the President Obama's legitimacy as leader of our country. The question of progress regarding this issue does not fall on the shoulders of President Obama it seems to fall on those that are still bringing up this issue either in a satirical nature or through parody. I remember a photo of Reagan campaigning for President, and he's standing on the bumpers of two parked cars with his arms out, just radiating. It's half the job of the candidate and even a GOOD President to make people feel safe and saved.


It's amazing that this messiah question was not overwhelmingly targeted at Bush since he is the one that publicly claimed that God had ordained him to become president. I guess even most Republicans knew that couldn't be true. Have Americans been so dumbed down over the past 8 years that if one is beloved by the masses and is bright and intelligent there has to be supernatural forces in play that account for his/her success. The messiah would make an excellent president but I'm sure even He would not be welcomed by many. I'm sure of it because he cared for the poor and hung out with the sinners too much for the ideological republicans.
